4. Technical Description
This case covers the backport of the socket module interface
introduced by Volo (PSARC 2007/587, PSARC 2008/694) to Solaris 10,
which is being done to facilitate the backport of RDSv3 (PSARC 2010/043).
Volo consisted of three major components:
1. Socket module interface for non-STREAMS transport providers
2. It converted TCP, UDP, ICMP and Raw IP into consumers of (1)
3. Kernel socket interface
Out of those components, only (1) will be backported. In addition,
the interface will be restricted to RDSv3.
