/usr/bin/patch is a generally useless, but standards-compliant disaster.
Use /usr/bin/gpatch for any real work.
(I haven't tried this particular patch since I don't have a ON source tree
handy, but have been bitten by and seen enough people in the past bitten
by it to have learned this lesson well.)
Also, copy and paste from the forum probably screws up the white space &
formatting too much. A downloadable text file would be much more useful
when providing patches in the future.
