So it sounds like I was misinformed. dprov is not *just* an example
driver, it's actually used as a test hook of some sort?
It isn't an example driver it is a dummy hardware used for testing.
Logically dprov is actually part of the security/ef test suite in STC2.
However given that we don't yet ship the header files for the kernel
part of the crypto framework (we will be soonish) it needs to be built
in ON rather than the STC2 gate.
