Real openness with respect to colaboration between people inside and
outside Sun.
Maybe we should start a discussion on what should be achieved in which
time-frame.
The benefit OpenSolaris could have, compared to other OSS platforms, is that
theere is the chance to let some people do payed work on the source that helps
to satisfy paying customers. Another group of peole could implement what they
like to see for their private way of using OpenSolaris. A third group of people
could implement things for fun or in order to experiment with new ideas.
If this is done in a way so one of the groups is not able to block or impact
others, we had a big advantage over other OSS and CS (or commercial) projects
because OpenSolaris could combine the benefits from both worls.
