If you merge it the way you're describing, then you may as well not have 
a ps in /usr/ucb at all.

I've mostly gotten used to the SysV way now, but when I ran the usb ps I 
always typed the -, since it worked, and I always thought it was funny 
that all the other commands used - options, why didn't ps need them?

Then again it's good ps didn't require them or this merge wouldn't be 
possible.
