Richard, first of all thank you for your very good ideads on cron improvement. I cannot promise anything, but I'll keep those on my personal list.

Good catch, if qt is not declared static, the symbol will be included and mdb will know it (using a recompiled snv_100 cron here): echo 'qt,0t26/DDDD' | mdb -p $pid| head -2 cron`qt: cron`qt: 100 2 60 0 For your purpose, that is sufficient - if you wanted to use type information in mdb (like I was assuming), I don't know any other way than including CTF information (and I'd be interested to learn if one exists). BTW, here's an alternative to get the main cron pid (bash/ksh syntax): pid=$(ptree $(pgrep cron)| head -1| cut -d\ -f1) Cheers, Nils _______________________________________________ opensolaris-code mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-code
