+1 to this - I think this really hits the nail on the head. I hate making parallels to Linux, but if you look what Debian have done, it's an incredible community achievement. If we could do half of that with OpenSolaris, I think we'd be doing very well indeed. For me, OpenSolaris is not just about the OS, or the sources - far from that. It's something much more exciting and I'm not talking with my Sun/Solaris hat on :) That's not to take anything away from genunix, blastwave or sunfreeware - they've all been *incredibly* successful [1]. I personally believe if we can join forces we have the chance at making something truly amazing.
