No disagreement here. Of course one big concern is that it's possible some critical files will have to stay encumbered (not even re-licensed for binary redistribution). So we should probably think carefully early on about how to deal with that should it occur. Come to think of it, maybe a goal should be to do a first release (of a community-supported desktop distro) that is not 100% open-source. At least that way, if the re-licensing process takes a long time, we could still get a distro out there while we're waiting.
