Portage? I certinaly hope not! Portage has a serious design flaw, as described in Gentoo documentation: "[I]However, a big warning applies: Portage will not check if the package you want to remove is required by another package. It will however warn you when you want to remove an important package that breaks your system if you unmerge it.[/I]" `pkg-get` is not an LPMS as you'd call it, it's a script that adds `apt-get` like functionality and uses Sun's native SVR4 software management subsystem.
