Apart from static compiling (tut tut), does anyone have
any real examples of something an application could do
on for example SunOS2.5 that will not work on OpenSolaris?
Hmmm, lots of stuff comes to mind, mostly
relating to old hardware or middleware:
SunOS 4.x compatability (SunView...)
graphics hardware & related stuff (buttons & dials,
multi-plane-group framebuffers...)
NIS+
NIS+ still works just fine.
OpenWindows/Xview/Olit development support
RFS
XGL attributes
PEX
Dataless client support
works but admin support is not there anymore.
Xview/Olit
the libraries are still there; apps works but the commands are gone.
COFF executable support
