A couple of things to check:
If you ever had an early access version, use pkginfo to see if the
system still thinks the package is there, remove it if it is. There
were some bugs in the EA uninstaller.
Check anyway!
Try adding the package by hand and see if there are any errors. There
will also be a log file from your install.
