I propose a new Open Solaris project to be called "NFSv4.1 pNFS".
With the forward momentum in the IETF NFSv4 working group around NFSv4.1 and pNFS specifically, it seems appropriate to start this project. While NFSv4.1 contains many new or additional features, the initial focus will be on the client portion of the relevant pNFS functionality. This project may expand to include other NFSv4.1 functionality as the need or interest arises. This new project should be associated with (and endorsed by) the NFS community and proposed initial project leaders will be myself and Lisa Week.
