I have finally found out the reason why I was having this problem. The problem I was experiencing was due to the fact that my ASUS A7V133 motherboard suffers from a bug in Solaris 10u2 (06/06). There is a workaround to this problem which does really resolve it.
You only need to disable ACPI, by adding a kernel flag with option "-B acpi-user-options=8" each time you boot it.
