You are using the generic ATA driver. nVidia NF4 SATA ports operate in
a legacy mode unless you load a native driver. This means that you get
the same basic feature set as you would if you were using a plane old
IDE drive.
I believe the only native mode SATA drivers are for the Marvell 6081
RevD0+ and one of the Silicon Image PCIe chips. I believe an NF4 one is
in the works though.
