Right.  I didn't doubt that it was in the pipeline, but since
Murphy loves to mess up plans, I'll skip hoping or expecting
in favor of eventually having (or not).

I noticed on their site some of the still skeletal developer docs
seemed to imply an interest in eventually opening the code.
Assuming license compatibility with all existing open-source
(and other too, I suppose) platforms for which the drivers
currently are available, that should help not so much with
design, but with getting bugs fixed, parity of quality and
performance for non-x86 platforms, confidence that it will
be around for the forseeable future, and so on.

I doubt their code will be released given the numerous amount of NDAs
they've had to sign over the years, but I suppose it is possible.
