It's too bad that you have issolated China out in such a programming context.
I can't agree with you since what we are striving to pilot the OpenSolaris programming in China instead of isolate out China. ;-)

It's critical to the success of a programming contest is the right timing. We have built a solid foundation in the past year by integrating OpenSolaris into OS curriculum in China universities. Below are current status of curriculum adoption in China:
1. We have trained 324 teachers from 137 universities;
2. Solaris/OpenSolaris courseware are adopted by 97 universities, covering 22000+ students;
3. Solaris is now being taught at 51% of top 100 universities

We are confident to get started the OpenSolaris programming contest in China with such a solid foundation. So we start the pilot in China first.

As we stated, we will expand the programming contest to other regions or even the commercial developers. But we should make certain that we are confident prior to expand to that region.
