Bzzzt...wrong answer. ZFS supports software RAID (zraid) and allows you to toss disks at the pool in any way you want. You can add them in pairs and mirror them, just toss them in, or do a number of other things with them such as creating serpate pools and/or filesystems.

I see Solaris/OpenSolaris being more flexible in that regard.

Oh, and there's no size limitation as imposed by Linux solutions either.

I once met Hans Reiser when he was giving a presentation on ReiserFS. I would never host my data on ReiserFS after that event.:-/
