Do you mean that you think that the BIOS has implemented ACPI1.0 and that the _PSS didn't exist in ACPI1.0? I doubt it. I'm not a BIOS or ACPI expert, but I really don't believe that BIOS developers implement a specific ACPI version. I believe they implement the parts that they feel they need to implement. You *might* get a better idea of why the _PSS isn't being found if you used a tool like iasl to dump the ACPI tables. That would provide you with disassembled AML.
