Sorry I missed your post. I never bothered to do the BIOS upgrade (don't know how to do the BIOS update from the Vista DVD). I downloaded sp36393.exe from HP.com which happened to be a zero byte file. So far, the built-in mouse pad doesn't work (I always disable it anyway). But I would like to have sound, though it is not a concern at least right now.
