Sure.  You can change shells if you want.

I don't think it would be wise to do so on the root account (why are
you logging in as root anyway?), but it can be done.

I was pointing out that copying one binary file delivered as part of
the operating system on top of another as an "administrative
configuration" mechanism was itself insupportable.  At least in part,
it won't work because the standard upgrade process will revert your
change without bothering to tell you what's happening.

It's no more supportable than deciding to open a hex editor and
changing the 357th byte of /lib/libc.so.1 from 20 to 40 because you
like that number better.  ;-}

If you attempt the 'cp' command that the previous poster suggested,
then you're on your own.  You're a test pilot.
