Quite.

However, on the larger VM side, non-mirrored swap would also
tend to perform better (esp. if both halves of the mirror have to
be on the same controller due to lack of enough controllers/disks to
do otherwise).

Not swapping at all (i.e. buy more memory!) would be better still, of course.
