Rule #0: Long/slow compile time, quick runtime, optimization to the max. Do you prefer the opposite? Also shadow compilation (unless you explicitly disabled it) and maybe lint and other checks. Did you post your nightly flags somewhere?? On my (for today's standards "slow") DC 2GHz Laptop the build doesn't take much longer than 2 hours. So what? Memory should be there in quantities.
