I ve difficulty in installing mp3 codec. I reached the final stage ( i should copy the codec file ie., .so file to /usr/lib folder.... But.. It says Your r not the owner and u dont have enough permissions to Paste in this location. But I didnt create any 'Owner' account during installation. How to solve this problem?
I assume you are talking about the Fluendo MP3 codec? To copy the files to /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10, you need to have system administration permissions. Perhaps ask the sysadmin to install them for you if you don't have syadmin permissions. Also, you can copy them into your $HOME/.gstreamer-0.10/plugins directory and they should work. You can create this subdirectory if you don't already have it. Since you have write permissions for your $HOME directory, this should work if you can't install them to /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10. Note that Fluendo's plugins only work with GStreamer 0.10 which is available in OpenSolaris and SXCE/SXDE releases. However, Solaris 10 uses GStreamer 0.8 and doesn't support Fluendo plugins.
