I already answered on pm-discuss, but here again. The latest version should show 2009, not 2008. If you are using an old version of PowerTOP, that means the dtrace probe which powertop uses does not match it is in the solaris kernel. So no wonder you encountered this error. PowerTOP has been integrated into SNV build since snv_100. Please use the version in the SNV build instead.
