Hi,

I found a reference here ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_GRUB ) that
OpenSolaris uses a modified Legacy GRUB install to support disk labels,
automatic 64 bit kernel selection and booting from ZFS (with compression and
multiple boot environments).

Are there plans to support GRUB2 as the its ability to be extended ( see here
http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-2.en.html ) via dynamically loaded
modules would allow only specific modules to be replaced, added or removed.

eg
If rpool is upgraded to support encryption and encryption is applied, this
would automatically trigger the installation of correct GRUB2 module which
would be able to prompt for the appropriate access key from the keyboard or usb
memory stick.
