Before trying the patch route, I would recommend loading the Sept 2009
CBE
which is Studio 12 with select patches.

and see if that solves your compilation errors.
Assuming this doesn't work, do you have the sunstudio12u1 or
sunstudioexpress
IPS package loaded?

I have the sunstudio12u1 IPS package loaded. The current patch for the
C++ compiler is Nov 28, 2009.
