Hi,
I'm trying to set up dhcp and dns updates on OpenSolaris 2009.06 (134b, x86).
The dns server is indeed accepting and executing updates from the IP address
where the dhcp server is running, I checked it with ns_update.
But the debug output from the DNS Server shows that the DHCP server isn't even
sending any update requests at all even though its clients request it.
Has anyone here *actually* managed to make the DHCP server update the DNS
Server? I've been trying for 3 days now without any success.

I think somewhere back around build 130 the Solaris DHCP server and DNS updates
stopped working for me. I tried for about a week to get it working again then
finally gave up and installed ISC-DHCP. The only problem I have found with
ISC-DHCP is that at the time it wouldn't run in a non global zone and I haven't
had the time to revisit that issue.

meanwhile I also gave up on Suns DHCP and also tried ISC. Let me tell
you that the issuse with non-global zones still exists.
I wonder if there is any Java based DHCP Server software?
