When you created your zpool, you should have specified "raidz1", which means
ZFS allows one disc to crash without problems. If you have not specified
"raidz1", it means no discs are allowed to crash - if one disc crashes, your
whole zpool is gone.

If you have configured raidz1 on your zpool and one disc crashes, you can
simply swap that disc to a new one, and use the command "resilver" which means
your zpool will automatically repair itself.
