All I can say is a lot of personal experiences really, I have a machine that contains an 8169 . This machine only works on the net if it is cold booted into solaris . A reboot from windows does not work .
you could also try to put FQDN names in the /etc/hosts file and in the /etc/hostname.rge0 /etc/hostname.rge1 files. RGE interface is a bit iffy, Intel e1000g has in my experience always been rock solid. //regards //Lars This message posted from opensolaris.org
