There are two 'versions' of Solaris Express, the Community Release and
the 'regular' version. The Community Release, as James mentioned, is 2-3
releases ahead of the regular version and has not had as much testing.
The Community Release should coincide with the release of the source,
but the schedules are not always in sync, so sometimes the CR will be
available before the matching source is ready. We'll try and make things
clearer as we go forward.
