[osol-help] open solaris in Dell XPS 435

I tried yesterday to install ubuntu 8.04lts on my XPS 435MT (Core i7, ATI 
Radeon HD 4670 XT) and it seems the graphical installer does not like my ATI 
card....now I want to give Open Solaris a shot....does any of you have any 
information about whether I should expect a smoother installation with Open 
Solaris CD?
