Well I definitely shared the folder as its available on other machines. Alright so Ive completely erased that installation and tried over. I installed 111b from the livecd, then upgraded to 118.
I then created a raidz2 array again, then created a filesystem named backup. I then loaded the CIFS modules, shared backup, created a group called 'datum', added a user 'moo' to 'datum' in CIFS. Alright so if I right click on the folder 'backup' and go to permissions, it says its owned by 'root' So I did chmod 777 /storage/backup . This now allows me to create folders, however I cannot write to files in those folders. I wish someone had a guide written up explaining how to achieve reasonable results. Ive done this in linux, some reason this isn't working out here... -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
