Hello. Could you explain, why if ntp dies, system is not booted to multi-user milestone. It is happening when my home box (09.06) is not connected to network. ntp service goes offline resulting in multi-user milestone fail... I had following dependencies:
$ pfexec svccfg svc:> select multi-user svc:/milestone/multi-user> listprop ntp_multi-user dependency ntp_multi-user/entities fmri svc:/network/ntp ntp_multi-user/external boolean true ntp_multi-user/grouping astring optional_all ntp_multi-user/restart_on astring none ntp_multi-user/type astring service I removed this dependency for now. But it is quite strange, why outage of one service should lead to all milestone troubles. I have following lines in messages: Aug 16 11:08:51 opensolaris ntpdate[173]: [ID 911342 daemon.error] can't find host <my.ntp.host> Aug 16 11:08:51 opensolaris ntpdate[173]: [ID 591498 daemon.error] no servers can be used, exiting Aug 16 11:08:51 opensolaris xntpd[546]: [ID 702911 daemon.notice] xntpd 3-5.93e+sun 03/08/29 16:23:05 (1.4) Aug 16 11:08:51 opensolaris xntpd[546]: [ID 301315 daemon.notice] tickadj = 5, tick = 10000, tvu_maxslew = 495, est. hz = 100 Aug 16 11:08:51 opensolaris xntpd[546]: [ID 266339 daemon.notice] using kernel phase-lock loop 0041, drift correction 0.00000 -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
