I'm trying to install OpenSolaris 2009.06 on an older machine that I bought from a hosting provider. (It's an old Pentium 3 rackmount server.) However, for some reason the SCSI hard drive doesn't show up at all in the installer. It's definitely there--in fact, I can boot from it. The motherboard is an Intel L440GX+, with an onboard SCSI controller, which is an Adaptec AIC-7896.
Is this simply incompatible with OpenSolaris, or is there some trick I can try to get it to work? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
