[osol-help] Monitoring zpool?

I will definitely read up on fmadm etc. 
Does Gnome in o.s. have any integration with it ("red flags" popping up)? 
Otherwise it's as good as "zpool status -x" or grepping through logs every 
morning.
Maybe I should be asking a more general question, is there any way to bring a 
critical error message (from /var/adm/messages or syslogd) to the attention of 
the user sitting in GUI, immediately?
