With either pkg or package manager, trying to install sunstudio12u1. downloads about 3/4 then fails

I have the shell & java version of sunstudio12u1 which fails with the message to use the ips repository version. Possible that something has gone wrong on my end, but was downloading the 2 - 3 GB DVD images of sxce without problems. system is not useful without a compiler.
