Hi.Just wondering if there's any hope for getting Solaris 10 or 11 or live up
and running on my new HP dv9812us laptop. I know
this is a "media center PC" I only bought it because it has an extra HD bay
and I thought it would be easier to dual boot if the Solaris was on
it's own HD. I've always been able to install and dual boot Fedora or Solaris
on all my other laptops until now. Do you think it's right that HP puts out a
laptop that runs vista only? I don't. Here are the error messages produced by
the live CD driver checker: 1: ACPI AC
Device........................Driver Missing 2:Broadcom
Corporation BCM 4328 802.11 a/b/g/n...........Driver Missing
3.nVidia Corporation....................................................Driver

audiohd... Driver Misconfigured To vacillate a bit on my question above, I
think HP has a right to put out PC that runs vista only if that's what they
want
to do, but they should let people know before they buy it (warning on the label
or something). But since they didn't let's see if Solaris is up to the
challenge.Meanwhile I'll continue running Solaris on my older model laptops and
desktop. I would be very grateful for any helpful suggestions at this point.
brucelorente at msn.com P.S.Thanks again to that guy over a
Blastwave who answered my call for help a few years ago (Clark something). With
his
help I was able to get by first install of Solaris 10 dual booted to my Toshiba
A-65 and have been learning and enjoying Solaris immensely ever since.
