Hi Nigel,
thanks for taking the time, I appreciate it. Yes I have posted my
question/problem to zfs-discuss and various other forums, but haven't received
a lot as yet.
Now here is the output of zpool status in english (I should have thought about
it before to just change the language setting :)
zpool status -xv
pool: usbDisk
state: FAULTED
status: One or more devices could not be used because the the label is missing
or invalid. There are insufficient replicas for the pool to continue
functioning.
action: Destroy and re-create the pool from a backup source.
see: http://www.sun.com/msg/ZFS-8000-5E
scrub: none requested
config:
NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
usbDisk FAULTED 0 0 0 corrupted data
c5t0d0s0 FAULTED 0 0 0 corrupted data
The labels 'usbDisk' are from my original pool on Solaris 10/Ultra25 the labels
'WD' are from my attempt to access the disk on Solaris 10/PC. So far I haven't
done anything to the disk (I think) in terms of recovery because I'm very vary
to destroy/corrupt even more.
What I tried was to access the disk on a Nevada/PC system which at least was
able to get the labels ('WD') but couldn't get the zfs in the pool.
Now the disk is back at my Solaris 10/Ultra25, so the output I sent is taken
from Solaris 10. For the time being I don't have access to Nevada since I'm
doing an 'undelete' on my PC in the hope to recover the original data, in case
the zpool/zfs recovery is not possible.
