Would a "test suspend-to-ram" work from single user mode?
Reboot the box, and boot into single user mode, using kernel
option "-s". Login as root and run
pmconfig
uadmin 3 22
This should suspend all drivers, and immediately resumes all
drivers - without powering off the system.
