Hello there,

I had SXCE b99 installed on my machine. Boot disc is 250GB, storage are 4 x
1.5 TB seagate drives, raidZ1. It has been up for about two months now, no
problems. I decided to try out the newest opensolaris 2008.11. I booted the
live cd, typed 'format' to see if it could see my discs. Check. Now I
imported my old ZFS pool, shared it over NFS, made sure all data was there.
Check.
Well, all seems well, and time slider seems fantastic. Installed to 250GB boot
drive. After reboot, doing a 'format' only shows me TWO of the FOUR storage
discs, and the zpool is unable to mount because of the missing discs. What in
the world happened? I've reinstalled twice, and now i'm about to resort back
to SXCE b104. I'd love to use OS2008.11, but cannot seem to get it to
recognize my drives (would not see any of them in 2008.05). I have a brand new
machine that I built, Asus motherboard, AHCI option for all SATA2 drives. 6
on-board SATA2 connectors. Seems to have no problems with SXCE, but when it
comes to OpenSolaris it gives it heck.

Anyone have ideas? Doing a 'zpool import -f chuck' returns 'no such device
chuck on pool'.

thanks,

brian
