I installed OpenSolaris on a Tyan S2882 and after a few hours it suddenly hangs and requires a hard reset.
I'm also running OpenSolaris on a Tyan 2892 without any problems for several months. Both motherboards are very similar. The main difference are the some slots: PCI for S8228 and PCI-E for S8292. To exclude a possible hardware issues (this machine is not new) I'm currently testing with Ubuntu, to see that the machine survives.
