today i install opensolaris on dell optiplex 160L ,system run ok,but there has
a big problem with my computer:
every time when system boot, just after the computer screen show
sun os 5.11.....
my PATA hard disk (WDC WD400EB) make a noise just seem disk head parking!!!
(the noise also seem the sound when hard disk power up or power down.)
after that everything run ok.
now my question is whether this problem will damage my hard disk or not?
if it will damage my disk,how to solve this?
i already try to change /kernel/drv/ata.conf configure standby=900,but it no
use!
btw on this computer ,I also install linux system and windows 2003, they don't
have this problem,so my hard disk is ok.
