Hi, I'm pretty new to Unix, but I'm trying to set up a ZFS fileserver, so far
I've managed to create the RaidZ pool, and it seems as if Samba is up and
running aswell, but I can't get past the authorization to access the shares
from my Windows machine (Vista).

I have been following this guide:

http://blogs.sun.com/timthomas/entry/solaris_cifs_in_workgroup_mode

And as far as I can see it's this part that's holding me back atm:

6. Install the SMB PAM module

Add the below line to the end of /etc/pam.conf:

other password required pam_smb_passwd.so.1 nowarn

But when I enter "vi etc/pam.conf" in the terminal I'm not able to edit the
content in the file.

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to use a "special key" to put the line in or
something?

And is it possible to remove the need to enter username and password at all
when connecting to the share over the network? A way to make it "free for all"?
