I have a ZFS server that I use to store files. It is 3 500 gig hds in a raidz.
I recently accidentally deleted several directories. The information is very
important, and can not be recreated. I do have a snapshot of some of the data,
but not all of it. When I realized what had happened I immediately shut the
server down, for potential data recovery. Firstly is there a ZFS undelete that
I can run, or another data recovery program that will work with ZFS? I have
looked around the net and can not seem to find information on recovering
deleted files from ZFS. I was also wondering is there a way to boot from a
live cd and import the pool as readonly (so I can start data recovery)? If
there are no tools for file recovery in zfs are there any good
tutorials/information on manually recovering the data? Any help you can give
is appreciated.
