[osol-help] best practice for accessing linux XFS partition?

Can you add an additional partition?
Is it perhaps possible to add a Windows partition? Or any other partition both 
OSs
can read.
Copy with an Ubuntu live CD the Linux data to the Windows partition.
Then boot again with a Solaris live CD and try to mount this Windows partition 
in (Opens)Solaris.
