How can I make this system boot so that a other driver can be loaded?

Ran into the same problem, and fiddled quite a time to find a solution:
Remove the NVIDIA-driver!
Boot to Failsafe (should work), enter all necessary commands to get your Boot
Environment mounted.

Then
# pkgrm -R /a NVDAgraphics
# pkgrm -R /a NVDAgraphicsr

Then reboot, and it should start relatively normal. Then download the latest
96.43-driver from Nvidia, and install it on a command prompt.
