What happens when you try to boot the CD? Do you see the GNU grub boot menu? If
you select the first item, does it then show the Sun copyright message at the
top of the screen?

If you are able to see the gnu grub menu, edit the first item in the boot menu
by pressing the "e" on the keyboard with the grub menu on the screen. This will
then show three or four lines with some commands which comprise this boot item.
Find the "kernel" line and highlight it - move the highlight using the arrow
keys. Once highlighted, press "e" again, then add the following to the end of
the line:

-kv -m verbose

Once you've done that, press enter, then "b" to boot the amended boot entry.
The system will then attempt to boot. Wherever it stops, you will now have some
messages on the screen that show you the last thing that happened before it
crashed. If you post the last 10 or so lines here we can help you with the next
step.

Also, can you tell us what your hardware is? CPU, memory, disk etc. There may
be a known problem that you are running into.

Thanks

Andrew.
