So you are able to boot the original build 94 system
from the snapshot?
When you run the command "zdb" as user root, the zpool
configuration information is printed. Does the configuration
info for the disk include a "devid" property?
IIRC, a disk device must have "devid" support, otherwise
snv_95 or newer can't zfs boot from it. This was changed
with the putback for
6704717 ZFS mirrored root doesn't live up to expectations
6710937 Boot failed information should be more friendly
