Solaris 8 only drivers, might work on Solaris 9,

Also install it as a diskless client see the admin guide or look for a PCI 
controller IDE HD drives or SCSI that is on the HCL list.

Was it becouse you tried to use the GUI, try disabling dtlogin

 svcadm disable cde-login

try using the serial port , boot wth the kernel option i.e -B console=ttya for 
a serial com1.
setup /etc/remote entry for cuaA:dv=/dev/cua/a:br#9600 for tip from another 
server or laptop using tip or hyperterminal under windows.

submit a prtconf -pv and a /iusr/X11/bin/scanpci -v bug/rfe link 
http://www.opensolaris.org/bug/report.jspa along with your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
