I have just installed opensolaris on a new machine that I want to migrate all my data onto.
I have run into a small snag and wanted to see if this is common and what is the workaround. I went into the users and groups to add permissions to my username. As I was not able to eject the cd out of the drive. I did not alter any of the roles. But ticked the manage removable devices. Once I exited this I discovered that the GUI had removed my root role and I can now no longer use pfexec or access any of the admin menus. To make matters worse when I try to enter an admin menu it askes for the system password which i assume to be the root one from the install but it is not. This also happened to a friend of mine, but I assumed he had ticked off the role. I guess he didn't. Is there any way to recover the root role within the system or do I need to edit through the live cd. Regards Murray -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
